“Teach me Your way, O LORD, I will walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name.” (Psalm 86 v 11)
Loved and adored,
Ever present, Lord.
Thanked and praised
For we are amazed.
You grace us, holy Trinity,
You embrace us, holy Three.
Made to be family,
We esteem and exalt You,
Through the prayer
We delight to share.
The Spirit in us,
Jesus prays for us.
Jesus with us,
The Spirit prays in us.
How truly wondrous!
This is grace,
Our Father’s face
Of kindly love,
O compassionate mercy,
Presented to us.
Thus we worship,
Offering back to Thee,
The Almighty Trinity,
The love You firstly
Gifted us at the †.
We are made holy
In the friendship of Jesus,
By the purifying Spirit,
Hopefully electrifying
Our response to holiness.
Guard us, Holy Spirit,
To defend all that is made worthy.
Graced by God’s goodness
In the friendship of Jesus.
Come and address us
For You must possess us.
Take charge of us
For Jesus, through Him,
His daily presence
Amongst us as blessing.
Pure gift from above,
From our Father of love.
Let love conform us,
Increase our likeness to Jesus.
Only by holiness
Can we properly praise
And adore You, Father God.
Attracted by all You make
And take to Yourself,
In the mercy of that
Which You make holy,
By the Spirit in us,
Adhering to Jesus,
The perfect Man,
The divine Son,
We rely and depend upon.
His life in us,
All thanks to the †,
Where forgiveness is won
By Jesus, for us,
This life is resurrected
That ever we be connected,
By His perfect holiness.
“I pray that I may know You and love You,
That I may rejoice in You.
And if I may not do so fully in this life,
Let me go steadily on
To the day when I come to fullness of life.” (Opening of prayer of St Anselm 1033-1109)
“Meanwhile let my mind meditate on Your eternal goodness,
Let my tongue speak of it,
Let my heart live it,
Let my mouth speak it,
Let my soul hunger for it,
And my whole being desire it,
Until I enter Your joy.” (The prayer of St Anselm concluded)
